Back from a lovely few days in the South of France, hot sunshine and visits to lovely places along the Riviera,Villefranche sur Mer,St.Jean Cap Ferrat,Menton and a crazy train to Entrevoux high above Nice in the mountains called the Chemin de Fer de Provence! Just a sample of the highlight, the Villa and Gardens Ephrussi de Rothschild, with its 9 themed gardens laid out over 7 acres overlooking the beautiful bay of Villefranche, more to follow! The musical fountains were switched off here so it was safe to stand on the stepping stones! Stunning! The French garden with waterfall and musical fountains! I am blending in here with the greenery! The garden is throwing up all sorts of colours and shapes after a fairly good summer (in Irish terms),plants are thriving after a good share of sunshine and feeding!
Dear God,please untie the knots that are in my mind,my heart and life.Remove the have not, thcannot and the do not that I have in my mind.Erase the will not,may not and might not that may find a home in my heart.Release me from the could not, would not and should not that obstruct my life. And most of all dear God, I ask that you remove from my mind,my heart and my life all the "am nots"that I have allowed to hold me back, especially the thought that I am not good enough. Amen. Author Unknown
As lavendar is looking so good at the moment I had to go and buy myself 3 lovely plants of it yesterday and hopefully it will flourish in my patch out back.I love the scent and have some adorning the kitchen sills and wall, heres hoping! Some good and some faded lavendar on my window sill! Lavendar holder and now faded lavendar brought from a holiday in Provence in 2007 Paid a visit to my local garden centre yesterday to see the new addition, a brand new cafe! It is called jam and they also have cafes in Kenmare and Killarney and are well established in the trade. They have a great menu available hot or cold and an on site shop for take aways as well.I had my coffee next to this window talk about a view! The cafe has a website,www.jam.ie Variations on a theme! This time my wine bottle decorated with artificial flowers! They will last longer than the fresh did and just need dusting off now and then!Total cost of flowers 4 euros. The clipper round the world boat race came to Cork last weekend and festivities were held along the quays to celebrate, the usual food markets, shop stalls and amusements for the children and live bands were playing also. The weather was not too kind for two days of the event but everyone seemed to think it was a great success otherwise. Fun and games at the fair Lovely edibles at the food stalls! Looking downriver
Stargazer Lilies exuding a heavy scent when I pass by! I was never an advocate of artificial flowers but I have discovered some that look so well I have been persuaded to purchase! These poppies were bought in Meadows and Byrnes in the city centre for 1.75 euros for a two flowered stem complete with buds! A new addition to the container collection,an evergreen called Felicia!
