Tis the Season................

Made a start on putting up the Christmas decor this weekend, just a little,as we discovered when bringing the boxes down from storage, that the wrong tree had been disposed of last year!
Now we have to purchase two new artificial trees for the two rooms we decorate each year!
Bought this new this year,I am a sucker for all things candlelight and love their glowing effect.Dressed up the base with some pinecones and red berried shrub from the garden and some glass beading.
The always inviting Christmas cookery book, again bought on impulse this year(only €4.99)the cover looks so inviting!
The local Cork City Christmas Market opened this weekend on the Grand Parade.Beautiful blue skies in the morning but later returned to grey skies and misty rain.

Love the Santa Hat roof tops on these cabins!

Toy soldiers standing to attention in the Bishop Lucey Park which is transformed into a Christmas Wonderland for the next 4 weeks.

Tangled Webs!

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we pratice to deceive!
A recent foggy morning left in its wake a stunning collection of web designs all over my garden.
My camera does not do the intricacy of the patterns justice but here is a selection anyway!

I wonder how long it takes for the spiders to weave these webs?

This one on the right was a very tangled web indeed, woven through my very slow growing ivy!

Just popped in a bit of colour with these kaffir lilies!
Another web through the fuchsia million bells

Happy Gardening!

Seasons

This beautiful beech hedge runs the length of the road and is almost maintenance free as it keeps its shape and then loses all its leaves during winter, turning green again for spring,a wise choice.

 Copper,red and golden hues.

And Christmas season is fast approaching!

Pretty Peach Poppy

Just thought I would post up this photo of a lovely poppy which flowered earlier on in the Summer in my garden!A little remodelling is called for both front and back for the coming year as I intend to have lots and lots of Spring bulbs in bloom when the time comes,so out with the shrubs and in with the bulbs!
