Ceoil agus Craic!(Music and fun)!

Recently I found myself near the Lough in the southern suburb of Cork City and to my delight the summer sessions of dances by the Lough were in full swing! From June to August every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm a band of traditional musicians and dancers gather at this lovely spot and dance for about 1 and a half hours.Led by experienced ceili dancers everyone can join in the fun, usually there are a good many exchange students and tourists involved and they join in wholeheartedly trying to master the intricate Irish dancing steps. A few traditional Irish songs may be sung as well of course. This particular evening they were very lucky that the weather held dry just till the end when the rain once again spoiled proceedings but it was nearly over anyway by then! A few photos from the night........................

Video showing the crowd dancing to "Shoe the Donkey"!
