Galway City of the Tribes!

Last thursday i went off to galway with my thespian son who was auditioning for a commercial in eyre square.I had not been to galway for some years so was looking forward to the trip.
We left our home at the ungodly hour of 6.10am and arrived in galway around 9.30am after a pleasant enough drive, no major hold ups, having come through mallow, charleville, buttevant, limerick and the towns of Clarinbridge (of oyster fame) and Gort to name a few.
The weather was showery but we got good spells of sunshine and we went on the tourist bus out as far as Salthill, through the Claddagh harbour,Galway cathedral, the salmon weir bridge and back to Eyre Square and John F Kennedy Park at its centre.
We had our fix of tea/coffee in the Park House Hotel off the square(highly recommended)before driving home again but stopping off in Bunratty Castle on the way down.
While there we dined in the creamery restaurant across the road from the castle and very nice it was too!
As you will see from the photos i discovered a bar named after me!!
Do click on the photos to enlarge as you will notice more details that way!
